Flash 2.0 Backup Battery Design


Powering the Flash 2.0 is the use of a Panasonic™ Lithium Polymer Graphene battery. Other brands use Lithium Ion batteries which have lower energy density, are 20 – 30% cheaper to produce, and come in a larger form factor.

These batteries have been specially designed, pioneered in the electric vehicle sector in collaboration with manufacturer Panasonic. Only launched in March 2019 and not yet widely available, this unique battery is currently the world's most energy dense battery, 20% more than its predecessor.

We chose Graphene because it is the most conductive material in the world with extremely high thermal conductivity, and Graphite films are widely used in thermal applications for mobile phones and other high-power devices. These Panasonic graphene li-po composite batteries contain more than 15% graphene and graphite, which is the ideal amount to have in a battery. Any less and the conductivity will decrease and the battery will no longer function. This is a proprietary industrial secret of the battery designer and manufacturer.

Battery Components


The chemical composition of the company's batteries is a trade secret and is not shared publicly. The main reason is that other companies will copy the technology, which is why many leading brands only use li-po battery technology. For Flash 2.0, it is equipped with a lithium-ion (li-ion) battery with additives, most notably Graphene, a material that can significantly change the characteristics of the battery. Safety Certificate


To achieve international certification for safe use, all power supplies undergo a number of rigorous industrial tests to ensure Flash 2.0 can withstand everyday use – even in the most extreme situations.

TEMPERATURE CHECK


Each power supply is placed in a temperature chamber and exposed to extreme temperatures ranging from -10°C to 65°C. In the event that the Flash 2.0 is exposed to these temperatures, once it is brought to a safe operating temperature, it will function perfectly fine.

CHARGE TEST / EXPLOITATION


Each power bank is charged and discharged from 0 – 100% 4 times to pass quality control. Each power bank will be 100% charged when it leaves the factory, so you will receive a product that is ready to go.

EXPERIMENT


The power supply is dropped from each of its 6 sides at a height of 1.2m (3.9ft) onto a 10cm (3.9”) wooden board. This test is important to ensure that the Flash 2.0 can handle all the accidental drops you will encounter in everyday life.

VIBRATION TEST


Each unit is passed through a vibration tester at a frequency range of 5Hz to 500Hz and tested on each X, Y and Z axis for 1 hour.

HUMIDITY CHECK


Each power bank is subjected to high humidity environments ranging from 60% – 90% and tested to ensure it still functions under these conditions.

CHECK STATISTICS


During this test, the backup battery has a contact discharge voltage of 2000V and a gap discharge voltage of 2000V.
