Evaluating the data transfer and fast charging speed of inCharge X on current smartphones and laptops

Nội dung bài viết

inCharge X is a 6-in-1 keychain-style charging cable that stands out on the market. This is a product line that continues the success of the previous inCharge 6 with a valuable upgrade in fast charging technology as well as better finishing quality. In recent times, inCharge X has received a lot of attention from users, especially the fast charging capability as well as the data transmission speed of the product. Is it as good as what the company announced?

    Overview of inCharge X appearance

First of all, in terms of the product's exterior design, inCharge X will offer 3 different color options including: Lava Black, Sapphire Blue and Marble Beige.

    Detailed specifications of inCharge X:

    – Size: 72x15x6.4 mm

    – Weight: 27gr

    – Data transmission speed: 480 Mbps / 60 MBps

inCharge X has a good quality finish from solid aluminum, this aluminum layer is very smooth to the touch, without the rough edges of other cheap products. The joint between the cable head and the connecting wire is integrated with a high-traction N52 magnet, so it will not easily fall off if the wire is attached to the key. The cable is covered with a thick, sturdy fabric layer on the outside.

inCharge X also has a longer cable version with a length of 1.5m, suitable for charging Macbooks as well as more convenient when you charge your device far from the charging source.

Test charging parameters on inCharge X

    iPhone 12 Pro Max

inCharge X supports fast charging capacity up to 100W via type-C cable, so smartphone models that support PD fast charging are no problem for inCharge X. The iPhone 12 Pro Max model that SiliconZ tested has 36% remaining battery capacity, with the first test of iPhone 12 Pro Max, the device received a charging capacity of up to 22W (Test above of Macbook Pro 87W charger)

The current is quite stable, around 22.46W-22.49W, with no big difference between charges.

    iPhone 11 Pro

The iPhone 11 Pro that SiliconZ tested has a battery capacity of 61%. Although it supports 18W capacity, it can go up to 20W, but the first test did not receive the maximum capacity that the 87W fast charger provides.

The device only receives power in the range of 13.93W-14.47W, the current is not much different but not as stable as on the previously tested iPhone 12 Pro Max. Maybe the battery capacity is over 50% so the device will not receive the maximum power of 18W.

Tested on Macbook Pro 15 2016 with Flash 2.0 210W power bank

Macbook Pro 15 2016 received a maximum capacity of 81W for both tests, possibly due to many factors affecting so we cannot see the charging capacity up to 100W that inCharge X supports.

Test on Huawei P30 with Baseus 22.5W fast charger

It's quite impressive that inCharge X supports 22.5W fast charging standard on Huawei P30, depending on some cables, Huawei P30 supports super fast charging, in this case inCharge X has completed its task quite well.

Test data transfer speed on inCharge X

Sandisk Extreme E60 1TB portable hard drive

Although it supports many fast charging standards with impressive capacity, data transfer speed is not the strength of inCharge X. With a 10GB 4K video file, inCharge X took up to 4 minutes to copy from Sandisk portable hard drive to Macbook hard drive, while with the original cable that comes with the hard drive, it only took about 20 seconds to complete.

However, it must be said that inCharge X only supports data transmission speed of 480mpbs (equivalent to 60mb/s), so we cannot expect much from this multi-function charging cable.

    Sony A7III Camera

inCharge X supports data transfer from type-C port when connecting camera to Macbook Pro 15 2016

    Conclude

It can be seen that inCharge X is an extremely versatile charging cable, with a compact size that can be easily carried everywhere, inCharge X also supports impressive fast charging capacity from iPhone to Android devices. Supporting many different charging heads helps you never miss important moments in life. Although the weakness is that the data transmission speed is quite slow, but with a smart 6-in-1, compact design, we cannot demand too much advanced technology from a cheap device.
